GENERAL CRITERIA FOR ENTRY

Admission to Doha College is subject to criteria which vary according to the child’s age-group and subject to places being available.

Admission from Doha College Primary to Doha College Secondary is not automatic. Doha College is an academically selective school and waiting lists for all year groups are rank ordered based on ability.

Applicants applying for Years 1 to 13 are required to undertake an entrance assessment at a non-refundable fee of QR 500. The assessment tests are designed primarily to ensure that the teaching and curriculum offered, match the pupil’s needs and are of great help internally at Doha College. Entry is to the College is based on availability in the Year group required, results of the entrance assessment and previous school reports.

Priority is given to siblings of students already attending the College.

Admission to Year 12 and 13 is subject to meeting our minimum entry requirements at GCSE and/or A level (5 grade C’s and above with B’s in the subject options selected) plus availability of places.
Reports from previous schools will be assessed as will any academic examination taken.

Interviews may be held and previous schoolwork may be requested.

Only in exceptional circumstances will students with learning support requirements be accepted. If more extensive learning support is required then this will be discussed with the school prior to confirmation of a place.

ONCE AN OFFER HAS BEEN MADE

If we offer a place to your child, you will be asked to collect an offer and acceptance letter from the accounts office that will require payment of the registration and/or advance tuition fee. Please see our fee schedule for a further explanation on the registration and advance tuition fees.

The non-refundable registration fee is applicable to each child attending Doha College Primary and/or Doha College Secondary and is in addition to the tuition fee.

The non-refundable advance tuition fee will be deducted from the applicants first terms fees.

To accept the offer you must sign and return the acceptance letter, with the appropriate fee, by the deadline as set out in the offer letter. If you miss this deadline without consultation with the admissions office, the offer will be withdrawn.

After we have received the acceptance letter we will issue an invoice for the first set of tuition fees, plus capital charge which is payable on or before the applicants first day of school.

Uniform information and suppliers are available on the website and will form part of the offer and acceptance package.

CAPITAL CHARGE

The Ministry of Education has given its approval for the implementation of a QR 3,000 capital charge per student each academic year which will assist us in upgrading our existing whole school facilities.

This will extend to provide a dedicated 6th Form accommodation and new Science Laboratories. This will have added benefit in that the existing science laboratories will be available for reallocation to meet other needs.

A second floor will be added to the extension of the Primary School giving us 2 new classrooms and an ICT suite.

Shading has been completed for the Primary and Secondary School common areas as well as the swimming pool.

A multi purpose ground has been designed between the Primary and Secondary building to provide facilities for athletics, tennis, net ball and other sporting activities.

In addition, a great deal of internal maintenance such as greening up the school has been completed with major improvements planned, for example to the Secondary toilets.

The capital charge will be payable in full with the first terms fees.

Waiting lists are currently open for all year groups from Pre School to Year 13. All applications received will be for the waiting list.
NOTE : Applications submitted without previous school reports WILL NOT be considered.
